How to reserve a puppy.

NOTE: True2Gold does not grant our puppies breeding rights.

To reserve a puppy please call Dan or Jenny Root for a screening interview. We will ensure that your family is a good match for a lovely Golden Retriever puppy.  Phone numbers below.

We are very busy on the ranch! Please leave us a text if you cannot get through.

Once approved the deposit is 50% which secures your place for selection.  The balance is due when you pick up your pup.

The order of selection of a puppy is decided upon who pays their deposit first and which puppy is suitable for their family. We are very strict about this order.

We allow puppy selections at around 5 weeks of age.

We encourage families to visit the litter as early as 10 days old so that your family can enjoy the entire life of your puppy. We have recently added a highly successful volunteer program for new owners where they can "Lifeguard" their new puppies starting at birth.  We schedule 4-hour sessions during the first week of life for those interested in seeing their puppies develop from the earliest stages onward.

Families may visit their puppy as much as mutually possible and the part of both the family and the breeder.

We include a lot of information regarding the care of your puppy. Please read the information on this website.

Ownership and AKC papers are signed on the day of delivery.

These pups have excellent bloodlines - with the unusual assurance that the grandparents and great-grandparents have been screened for longevity.

Few breeders do this.

Our females have an exceptional track record with an excellent ancestry.

Usually older adult dog conditions are a result of spaying and neutering too early in life and depriving the animal of their hormones that are absolutely essential to develop strong organs and bones.

See the documentation from leading researchers

confirming this:

It has been medically proven that spaying and neutering should not be done prior to at least 18 months or 2 years of age.

There is a wealth of information about the evidence proving dogs that are NOT spayed or neutered before 2 years of age - do NOT present serious health issues later in life. The risk factor is less than 5% which is the same as the general population of all other dogs on the planet.

Your careful research would be appreciated because we will not spend your hard-earned money to promote this multi-million dollar business.

DISCLAIMERS:

1. We reserve the right to refuse service to those who do not meet our basic standards of ownership and social interaction.

2. Selections will be in the order of the contact and family or individual request being submitted by text or phone, deposits received and compatibility with the puppy's personality and the family's needs. We are proud to have matched all of our pups with perfectly suited families who are very happy with our service. See the "Testimonials" Tab and Google Reviews of True2Gold.

3. We make no guarantee that we will return calls immediately or in a set time period. However, we try to be prompt unless there is a situation beyond our control. Puppies keep us busy! Please be patient, after a litter is born, there is much to do involving puppy care and training, which is always our first concern. We also have many clients calling with canine questions. We do our best to prioritize our contacts. Every customer is important and we will try to meet your needs as soon as we are able.

4. If for any reason your puppy is not working with your family we insist on it being returned to True2Gold and you will be given a partial refund when the dog is placed in a new home.

Our Story

Our decision to turn a passion into a business was "forced" upon us by innocent citizens! People we met in everyday life persisted in asking for our help - and they wanted to buy our dogs! Their pleading eyes were worse than a puppy's longing looks! But seriously, they were genuinely needing help in finding quality dogs with good bloodlines at a reasonable price.

As we traveled often with my Service Dogs we would draw a lot of attention from people who passed by. Inevitably we stood for long periods of time talking about our dogs. Adults and children from all walks of life would pet them and enjoy loving on them. Businessmen became "toddlers" as they gushed over the dogs!

Sometimes we would not get our errands done because so many people would stop us. Walking through an airport or hotel lobby could easily take an extra hour! Many people would then notice how our Goldens were quietly seated or lying down as we talked. This was impressive since most dogs would not be so patient or so compliant. People who watched our dogs' gentle mannerisms asked us where they could find a dog like ours. We soon decided to breed our own.

We have been able to help many people with their own dog's behavioral training. We are able to walk you through most issues that might be encountered or we can refer you to the best trainers in the area.

It was upon the tragic death of my beloved dog, True, that I realized the need for someone to breed for longevity as well as super qualities. True died suddenly of cancer at only 8 years of age. True had saved my life on three occasions, she never left my side. She was an angel in a dog's frame!

I had lived for years with a sudden choking condition at night. It was never very scary, but startling. The gadgets the Doctors gave me to wake me up in the event of my heart stopping from lack of air, were all useless. They could not make a sound audible from a partial coma!

One evening I was sleeping peacefully with True by my side. She never jumped up on the bed. She never asked to, and my husband was fine with her on the floor and didn't want her on the bed in his place!

I awoke suddenly to find my True standing on my chest! She was staring into my face and panting. I remember saying, "True, get off!" and falling asleep again. Then I slowly became conscious as I focussed on her panting again. Her face was stuck on me and her panting breath was warm on my cheeks. I looked at her in amazement wondering why was she panting so much, and why was she standing on my chest? I must have been in some kind of semi-conscious state because it took me a long time to process these thoughts.

Her weight was very uncomfortable but I couldn't move. I sat up a little and then I realized I couldn't breathe! I wasn't able to make a sound. No air. Finally, I realized in a second what was happening. My darling dog somehow knew I wasn't breathing and she had jumped on top of me to check me out. She was worried enough to be stressed and panting. Her weight had not roused me, but her panting in my face sure did.

I grabbed my husband and shook him to wake him. He was up in an instant and as I pointed to my throat he understood. He applied an amazing CPR technique to the situation. He slapped me in the back violently and that freed up a throat full of vomit that was drowning me. I spat it out and stared ahead at True. She had saved my life! For a few moments, I wondered what would happen next. Would I choke again, cough? I could taste the foul air in my windpipe and I knew I had a lot of vomit still inside my lungs. It wasn't long before the violent coughing began and I finally cleared my airways after over an hour of struggle.

Throughout the entire ordeal, True's golden head was on my lap. She was more concerned than Dan since he knew I was now safely breathing. But the coughing bothered True. That experience was one of three times she would sit on me and pant in my face.

I still don't know how she could sleep next to me for years and know the moment when I stopped breathing. She must have been close to God.

Her death was unexpected and heartbreaking. No one should have to experience the premature death of a beloved friend. I went in search of puppies from a breeder who could tell me about the grandparent's good, long health. It was surprisingly difficult. Most breeders had no idea about the ancestors of their dogs or how long they lived.

Finally, I found a breeder who actually had my keyword "longevity" in her vocabulary! They had bred for health - not just color or temperament. Most Golden Retrievers already have a fantastic, cheerful temperament so breeding for health and longevity makes so much sense.

I was impressed with the older ages of the family members within the bloodlines so I became confident that this was the excellent start we needed. The grandfather was a champion hunter and the mother was an incredibly sweet companion dog. We chose a female puppy as our first breeding bitch, Treasure.

Quite soon after, we found another breeder with the same qualified pups. True was the biggest yet most calm puppy in the litter. He was a cuddler from the start. I debated whether to call him True, after my first dog, knowing he could never be the same as my first True.

But I stayed committed to the name and named our new enterprise after True, and True 2.

I have to mention, that as much as I adore my new dogs, True and Treasure, their puppies are of an even higher quality than they are!

**OUR PUPS ARE EVEN BETTER-LOOKING THAN THEIR PARENTS! EACH AND EVERY ONE GROW UP TO BE A LITTLE TALLER AND VERY MUCH BROADER THAN MOM AND DAD. THEY TAKE THE BEST OF EACH PARENT AND MULTIPLY IT!

WE HAVE THE JOY OF DOG-SITTING FOR OUR FAMILIES WHEN THEY ARE ON VACATION AND WE HAVE HAD MANY OF OUR PUPS STAY WITH US AS ADULT DOGS. THE TRANSFORMATION IS REMARKABLE.

WE HAVE ATTAINED THE BREEDING RIGHTS OF TWO EXCEPTIONAL SIRES KNOWN AS "RIGBY" AND "FARLEY",  AND THERE WILL BE A NEW LINE STARTED SOON THAT WILL BRING EVEN HIGHER QUALITY DOGS INTO THE WORLD, WITH THE SAME CANCER-FREE LINEAGE.

We are sure you'll be happy working with us. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please contact us.
